What was the highlight of 2023 for you?
My highlight has been working for Brisbane Youth Service and seeing amazing outcomes achieved by young people in tough situations. Things are hard for many young people, there is not a lot of housing available. Watching the magic that happens when young people achieve great things whilst coming out of adversity empowers me to continue to advocate for what our young people need to succeed.

If you could have done something differently last year, what would it be and why?
I would have committed more time to health and wellbeing. It is challenging juggling small children and a career. Health is so important and next year I plan to smash those goals.

Who is someone to watch for in 2024?
The Honourable Minister Meaghan Scanlon, I believe she is a wonderful young role model for our young people. We need more inspiring young local leaders.

What is your most vivid memory of the festive holidays?
I would say seeing the Christmas lights and my children’s eyes light up as the Christmas tree lights came on.

Do you have any unique or funny holiday traditions?
We do Secret Santa in our wider family, we only spend $100, and we buy one gift for someone using the Elfster app. It’s fun and light hearted, and makes life easier with a big family. We have done this for 10 years and still counting.

What’s your New Year’s resolution for 2024?
My Resolution is to learn to balance more of my personal life and focus on more family time where I can make it work.

If you could have anyone from any time period attend your Christmas lunch, who would you choose?
I would invite Brene Brown, I admire her humour and dedication to changing peoples live. I feel she would be so validating and funny.

Coastal holiday or city holiday?
Coastal, I would choose the NSW South Coast (sorry QLD) best place in the world and 1770 Agnus Water, equals paradise.

What are you looking forward to in 2024?
Focusing on achieving goals at work, I love my job and the team I would with. I also looking forward to seeing my children grow into caring and adventurous human beings.

Do you have a summer book or podcast you can recommend?
Something thriller based that is easy to read and zone out to is: Verity by Colleen Hoover.
Podcast I would recommend: Esther Perel, Where Should We Beginning.
