What was the highlight of 2023 for you?
2023 has become a bit of a highlight reel when I take a moment to reflect on things. In January our little boy Leo joined the family, I started a new job which has been incredible and our little family purchased our first home. Mix in a few holidays along the way and I am proud of everything 2023 has delivered.

If you could have done something differently last year, what would it be and why?
Not a single thing. Everything will happen the way it should and there is no point contemplating decisions or changes along the way. If is was super critical I should probably have drunk more water.

Who is someone to watch for in 2024?
I think all eyes will be on Queens Wharf and the impact this development will have for Brisbane. I will seek inspiration from the creative folks here in Fortitude Valley, such as Range Brewing and The Unfit Run Club. I love the energy and positive vibes the creatives of the Unfit Run Club bring to life. Another one to watch is Ghanem Group who have some exciting plans which I can’t wait to see actualize.

What is your most vivid memory of the festive holidays?
Waking up and Santa had delivered new surfboards to our family. This was on the Gold Coast in the early 90’s and the froth levels were high. I am super grateful for these moments as a kid and want to provide mine with this same level of excitement.

Do you have any unique or funny holiday traditions?
Holidays with three kids (7, 5, 1) now is all about being organised, understanding that plans will change and just go with the flow. This year we were all in Kuala Lumper and the kids kept complaining it was too hot (which it was) so we just ended up in an airconditioned Karaoke bar singing for a couple of hours, was epic.

What’s your New Year’s resolution for 2024?
Eat Better. Run More. Get back in the boxing ring. Sleep Earlier. Wake up earlier. Drink More Water. Read More Books. Talk Less. Listen more. Experience Everything and be present… Just to name a few.

If you could have anyone from any time period attend your Christmas lunch, who would you choose?
Would answer this differently everyday, however right now vibing Macklemore… These lyrics hit hard.

Coastal holiday or city holiday?
Coastal for sure…. Morning Coffee, waves and beach vibes any day.

What are you looking forward to in 2024?
Continued growth. 2023 has been a big year of change, personally and professionally – 2024 will see some of the dividends pay off from these changes.

Do you have a summer book or podcast you can recommend?
Let my People Go Surfing – Yvon Chouinard. This is the story of Patagonia. A surf/ adventure/ lifestyle brand that gives back to the world more than any other corporate organisation. An inspiring and thought-provoking business book.
