Zielke believes that if you support your local community, it will repay that support in kind.

As the director of JRZ Constructions and Liveable Homes Australia (LHA), the 36-year-old former carpenter has overseen the construction of more than 420 houses in his home town of Bundaberg.

At a time where the housing crisis has become a prominent talking point within our social and political discourse, Jesse and his building companies have worked to ensure that even the most vulnerable Australians have access to suitable and safe housing solutions.

Liveable Homes Australia designs, develops, builds and manages Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) across regional Queensland, partnering with Australian Unity to develop more purpose-built SDA from Rockhampton to Beaudesert.

“The homes we develop help support those in our community with very high support needs, says Jesse. “All homes have state-of-the-art fire sprinkler technology, which protects the residents if there was ever to be a fire in the home. It’s truly life changing for anyone moving into their homes.”

While LHA is already changing the lives of many, Jesse’s altruism extends much further than just foundations, frames, doors, windows and walls.

To address the urgent need for housing and crisis-intervention solutions in the Bundaberg area, Jesse and JRZ Homes donated $10,000 to fund a specialised Sleepbus, which looks to offer safe, temporary, overnight accommodation to people sleeping rough.

What’s more, a JRZ Constructions initiative, which gives clients the chance to donate $250 to a local charity of their choice, has raised a whopping $100,000 in direct-support funding to local Bundaberg charities.

“Our community members are always willing to lend a helping hand when others need it,” Jesse said.

JRZ Constructions was recently awarded a new five-year project, which Jesse predicts will help secure hundreds of jobs locally and allow for the training for more of the local youth, thereby bolstering the talent pool of skilled tradespeople in the area.
