Brisbane – hold onto your funny bones. The Brisbane Comedy Festival has returned, serving up an entire month of giggles and guffaws from Friday April 28 to Sunday May 28. Presented by Brisbane Powerhouse, the festival will bring bonafide belly laughs from a stellar line-up of local legends and international jokers, including Anne Edmonds, Ed Gamble, Lizzy Hoo, Mel Buttle, Nat’s What I Reckon, Rove McManus and Tommy Little. Returning to this year’s Brisbane Comedy Festival after sell-out shows is Frocking Hilarious, bringing together some of the funniest women in comedy for one night only underneath The Pleasuredome at Brisbane Powerhouse.
Hosted by the illustrious Claire Hooper, Frocking Hilarious is a snigger spectacular that will see the likes of Michelle Brasier, Rose Callaghan, Emma Holland, Katrina – The Real Wog Wife of Brisbane and more take to the stage and leave you shaking with laughter. Their goal is not just to make you cackle, but also to support Australian-based organisation ActionAid, championing women’s rights in more than 45 countries. ActionAid represents a global movement of women, standing in solidarity with them to claim their human rights and empowering them to campaign against injustice within their communities.
