More than 20 charged as police smash NQ drug trafficking ring
More than 20 people have been charged with dozens of offences after police smashed a drug trafficking ring in north Queensland.

Officers seized almost a kilogram of methylamphetamine, cannabis, a rifle, two tasers and $73,000 in cash during raids across Townsville and Ayr, police say.
Queensland Police also discovered two illicit drug laboratory sites at Kirwan and Giru, which were allegedly used to produce methylamphetamine.
A total of 23 people were charged with 192 offences after detectives executed 16 search warrants at residential and commercial properties.
A 54-year-old man was charged with one count of trafficking dangerous drugs and three counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
He is also accused of possessing items used in the commission of a crime and possessing property allegedly used in the connection with a drug crime.
Two men, aged 42 and 53, and a woman, 41, were charged with drug trafficking and other drug offences.
All four have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court in December.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Caswell said the operation will impact the methylamphetamine supply in the area.
“We will allege those arrested were involved in a syndicate trafficking dangerous drugs,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
