Employers urged to open up to opportunity this Disability Action Week

Queensland employers are being invited to consider the benefits of hiring people living with disability, as part of Disability Action Week this week.

Dec 09, 2021, updated Dec 09, 2021

The week, which runs until 11 December is an opportunity for employers to think differently about how they find and employ the right person for their business.

This year, the Queensland Government’s Disability Action Week campaign, Employment diversity—open up to opportunity, assists employers on the journey to greater employment diversity.

The campaign addresses perceived barriers in employing people with disability and encourages employers to consider the possibilities, think outside the square, find support and make a workforce diversity plan.

The campaign website at www.qld.gov.au/daw highlights the many benefits of a diverse workforce with videos featuring employment experts and people with disability, as well as pathways to information and support for employers.
