Music fans can rejoice as one of the largest free music events in Australia announces its return – Blues on Broadbeach.

The 2021 event will bring with it a diverse array of local Aussie talent, a range of rising stars and an atmosphere not to be missed.

The Gold Coast’s much-loved Blues event last rocked the streets of Broadbeach in May of 2019, and in 2021 is slated to light up the streets of Australia’s favourite playground for four days of musical celebration from May 20-23, 2021.

“After producing a digital version of Blues on Broadbeach in 2020, we can’t wait to throw open the doors and welcome back our festival fans new and old,” said Festival Director Mark Duckworth.

“In 2021 we have curated a mix of artists to give the streets a party vibe and let live music entertain once more.”

The festival boasts headliners including revered acoustic guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, ARIA award-winning artist Christine Anu, reggae-fusion legends The Black Seeds and Sydney soul powerhouse The Lachy Doley Group.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said he is excited for the fantastic line-up in 2021.

“Since lockdown, I’ve been dying to get amongst some great blues music, so with Tommy heading Down Under, I can see a record crowd milling around the main stages at Broadbeach,” he said.

“This event is iconic for the Goldie and I know thousands of people travel throughout Australia to get to it. Let’s get those trumpets, saxophones, and guitars humming in 2021.”

Revered as the best acoustic guitarist in the world, Nashville based Tommy Emmanuel is a man that has achieved enough musical milestones to last a lifetime.

In 2021, he is returning home with a fresh album under his belt to perform exclusively at Blues on Broadbeach.

“I am really looking forward to playing Blues on Broadbeach May 2021! My late brother Phil had played the festival and raved about it. I am very honoured to be asked and will give my absolute best to the fans,” said Tommy.
