As financial year ends, we’re campaigning to keep local journalism strong – you can help

The growth of local and independent newsrooms is a good news story in the midst of continuing challenges for the media.

Mass content syndication, prolific AI-fuelled misinformation and disinformation, and rushed reporting lacking nuance and diverse voices … these are some of the challenges Australians must contend with when it comes to accessing important news.

But in the midst of this turmoil, with so many media organisations centralising in Sydney and Melbourne, local and independent media organisations are standing tall to provide quality, accessible, verified and locally relevant news.

InQueensland has been providing independent, high-quality news to Queenslanders since 2020, that includes free-to-access public interest journalism, fighting to provide our community with an alternative voice in a market once totally dominated by the Murdoch press.

We believe locally produced, independent journalism makes our democracy and our community stronger.

Together we can also continue to provide an alternative, credible and independent source of news for many more years to come.
