Dr MacMahon was taken to hospital after her Toyota Prius and a Hyundai i30 collided at a busy Brisbane intersection on February 13.

She had left a function and was on her way to another community event when the collision occurred.

“I’m still very sore, have injuries that are still healing, bruises and I’m pretty tired,” Dr MacMahon said on social media on Monday.

“I’m now able to walk around, read, joke with my family, have some little trips to the shops and eat the delicious snacks friends have dropped off for me.”

Dr MacMahon said the healthcare team looking after her were adamant she take the next few weeks to recover properly.

“This means I’ll be largely out of action for the next little bit while I do this,” she said.

Dr MacMahon used her social media post to thank people for their well wishes, gifts and kindness during her recovery.

A 26-year-old woman who was allegedly driving the Hyundai i30 has been served with a notice to appear for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

She is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on March 14.
