The crime spree began on Sunday night when a man and two women armed with a firearm and knives hit a burger joint in Springfield, Ipswich.

They threatened the workers and stole cash before making off in a stolen 2003 white Ford Falcon utility with registration number 120-FG7.

On Monday night, the same group stole cash from three more fast food stores in Rocklea, Salisbury and Algester.

Employees were threatened before cash was stolen with the trio then fleeing in a stolen 2003 white Ford Falcon utility with Queensland registration 120-FG7, in a north-east direction onto Springfield Parkway.

The utility was later found dumped in Heathwood.

The trio are now on the run from Queensland Police, who are warning fast food stores to be extra vigilant in the wake of the robberies.

No one was physically injured.

The white Ford Falcon utility was located abandoned near the intersection of Johnson Road and Stapylton Road, Heathwood around 11.15pm.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle in recent days to contact them, or anyone with relevant dash cam footage to come forward.

Police are alerting fast food outlets to be extra vigilant and if they notice anything, anyone suspicious, or any suspicious vehicles , to lock their doors and immediately contact police.

Extra patrols of fast food outlets are being conducted by police.

Investigations by detectives from Ipswich and South Brisbane are continuing.

The trio is believed to consist of one male and two females.
