The agricultural aircraft lost altitude during a crop-dusting flight near Chinchilla Wondai Road and crash-landed near the tiny town of Canaga about 12.20pm on Monday.

The pilot, believed to be a man in his 30s, was the sole occupant and died at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit and Australian Transport Safety Bureau will prepare a report for the Coroner.
