The man’s body was found at the Valley Metro food court above the Fortitude Valley train station about 4am on Monday.

Queensland Police are questioning three people about the death and have cordoned off the area as they investigate.

Regional Duty Officer Inspector Sean Cryer said police saw the incident take place on CCTV footage around 4am.

“On closer examination, they saw a male person lying on the ground and persons nearby had blood on them,” he said.

Inspector Cryer said police and emergency services were dispatched, administering first aid and CPR to the man, who suffered injuries, but he was later declared dead at the scene.

“It was determined three persons had decamped into the rear of the railway station,” Cryer said.

“The search was conducted for those persons, they were located on platform four, the weapon was located, and those three persons were taken into custody to assist police with their enquiries into this matter.”

A Translink spokesperson said services at bus stop 211 on Brunswick Street, outside the station, have resumed after being temporarily affected.
