Sunshine Coast detectives arrested and charged the 23-year-old man with multiple offences against four females, aged between their mid-teens and early 20s, on Thursday.

Police say he’s accused of rape, torture, strangulation, stalking, deprivation of liberty, extortion, hacking/misuse of computer, burglary and assault occasioning bodily harm.

The man worked as a security officer at the Maroochydore Safe Night Precinct, one of many set up by the government to reduce late-night drug and alcohol-related violence in popular entertainment areas.

Police say he met two of his alleged victims while working at the Maroochydore precinct.

Detectives will hold a media conference on Friday morning and make an appeal for further potential victims to come forward.
