Police say the woman and four males were in a Lexus when it raced across an intersection and slammed into the house near the corner of Gowan Rd and Hellawell Rd, Sunnybank Hills, about 11.20pm on Monday.

The crash left the home on the verge of collapse and the others who were in the car ran away, leaving the seriously injured woman at the scene.

The four males then got into a second car, which was also believed to be stolen, that had been travelling with the Lexus and it was driven away.

No one was in the house at the time of the accident, police said.

Queensland Ambulance Service raced to the scene to find the young woman with “significant facial injuries” and she was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

Police say the crashed car had been stolen from Kuraby, also in southern Brisbane, on Sunday afternoon.

“Investigators urge anyone with information about the crash, knowledge about the occupants of the car or dashcam footage from the area to contact police,” they said in a statement.
