Teenage girl faces domestic violence murder charge

A teenage girl has been charged with a domestic violence murder after allegedly stabbing a teenage boy to death in a northwest Queensland Indigenous community.

Mount Isa detectives say the 16-year-old allegedly stabbed the boy, also 16, during a fight at a home on Roberts St, Doomadgee about noon on Tuesday.

The boy died at the scene and the girl was arrested when police arrived at the home.

The girl was charged with domestic violence murder, denied police bail and remanded in custody.

The 16-year-old is due to appear in the Doomadgee Children’s Court on Wednesday.
