Two charged with murder of Hervey Bay golf course owner

Two men accused of murdering the owner and caretaker of a golf club near Hervey Bay have had their case mentioned in court.

Gregory Harding was found dead last Monday at his home at the Craignish Country Club, a golf club and hotel.

Harding was found after a witness attended the club for routine business but could not find the caretaker.

Police say the 64-year-old was found with a stack of documents near him and his death prompted a murder investigation.

Two men from Loganlea – Joshua Marcus Pope, 30, and Gregory Tremayne Pryor, 25, did not appear as charges were mentioned in Brisbane arrests court on Monday.

The pair cannot apply for bail and were remanded in custody for mention on September 20.
