A Brisbane Airport Corporation spokeswoman said the entire domestic terminal was impacted, with airlines having to check in travellers manually.

She said the airport’s facilities management team would seek explanations from Energex about what caused the power surge.

The backlog had been cleared by late morning and flight schedules were returning to normal, she said.
