The woman was dragged by a car for several hundred metres after it was carjacked in Brisbane.

An 18-year-old man allegedly got into the driver’s seat of the parked Mitsubishi Lancer hatchback at a Woolloongabba shopping centre about 7pm on Monday.

The woman was sitting in the passenger seat, while another man had gone into a restaurant to get food.

Queensland Police allege the teenager pushed the woman out of the car but she ended up being “dragged for several hundred metres” when he drove off.

The car crashed into a brick retaining wall outside a church.

The man was arrested at the scene.

The 22-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The teenager is due to front Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with robbery with violence, deprivation of liberty, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and unlicensed driving.
