The Queensland-based company, which has just been revived under the ownership of Bain Capital, will cut airfares on more than 500,000 fares as part of its “Go You Good Thing” campaign which will run from today until next Friday.

Brisbane travellers will be able to fly to Newcastle, Proserpine and Sydney from $89. Flights to Mackay and Rockhampton will be as low as $99 and Cairns $109.

Travellers will be able to get to  Hamilton Island from $115, Hobart from $139 and Launceston from $159.

The deal will be available in other major cities and will target the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast.

The travel campaign will feature 12-year-old Melbourne schoolgirl, Annie Jones, who shot to fame on America’s Got Talent this year.

Virgin Australia said it launched the sale to coincide with coming out of voluntary administration on Tuesday.
