The show will feature a range of vintage Ipswich wedding photographs taken between 1890 and 1950.

But an added attraction will be the Ipswich Wedding Wall, with museum operators wanting visitors to share their own wedding stories and photographs.

Queensland Museum Network chief executive Jim Thompson said as a recent “father of the bride” he was reminded how magical weddings could be.

“We wanted to be able to allow visitors to share their own wedding stories and the idea for the Ipswich Wedding Wall was born,” he said.

“We are looking forward to hearing the stories from locals and sharing them with our visitors.”

Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch said the exhibition would provide a glimpse of Ipswich’s evolving social history and cultural changes.

The museum would like to hear from anyone with a local wedding story and high resolution photograph of the big day to share with visitors.

I Do Ipswich opens on February 26.
