The Urban Muster will kick off the Ekka Holiday on August 10, with a brand new festival for country and blues which boasts a line-up including four ARIAs, five Golden Guitars and six AIR awards. Joining the lineup are All Our Exes Live in Texas and Fanny Lumsden.

The festival is a night of country, blues, and roots over two stages at the Fortitude Music Hall in Fortitude Valley, on August 10.

C.W. Stoneking, fighting fit from months of touring around Australia, will bring his authentic 1920’s pre-war blues mixed with New Orleans jazz sound.

Taking audiences on a journey to New Orleans via his home town of Katherine, Northern Territory, Stoneking uses his upbringing in the desert in the middle of Australia to create fantastical sonic landscapes influenced by the hokum, jazz, blues, and country of southern USA.

All Our Exes Live in Texas will play their unique and critically acclaimed style of Australian folk, winning the ARIA award for Best Blues and Roots Album in 2017 for When We Fall.

Joining them is Australian country star and ARIA award winner Fanny Lumsden who this year won the ARIA for Best Country Album and five Golden Guitar Awards for her 2020 album Fallow.

Other acts to get audiences boot scooting all over the floor will be alt-country outfit Wagons, Americana-style country music star Ruby Gilbert, and Brisbane-based alternative country band Camping.

Following the festival will be an after-party upstairs at the Fortitude Music Hall’s intimate venue The Outpost, with the night’s soundtrack provided by The Wet Whistles.

The Urban Muster is on Ekka Holiday Eve, August 10. Tickets are on sale now, to purchase head to Ticketmaster.
