Nioa gets AmCham gig

Robert Nioa said he was honoured to be appointed to AmCham Australia’s council of governors.

He said with the defence industry in the spotlight from the AUKUS alliance he was looking forward to supporting the organisation.

QEM gets ex-HSBC boss

Vanadium hopeful QEM has appointed Tony Pearson to its board.

Pearson was at one time the HSBC managing director. He also has experience in resources and infrastructure.

Three ASIC commissioners

Treasurer Jim Chalmers has appointed three new commissioners to the Australian Securities and Investment Commision.

They are Katherine O’Rourke, a first assistant secretary at Treasury, Alan Kirkland who heads consumer group Choice, and Simone Constant who is the chief risk officer at CBA.

ASIC chair Joe Longo welcomed the appointments.

NEXTDC adds a director

Data centre company NEXTDC has appointed Maria Leftakis as a non-executive director.

She is currently the chair of Morrow Sodall Asia Pacific which is one of the largest global shareholder and governance advisory companies.

She has also held roles in senior management of advisory firms and the company said she offered deep commercial and industry expertise.

Scholz gets a bigger slice

Domino’s Pizza has appointed Nathan Scholz as chief communications and investor relations officer.

Scholz has been with the company since 2016 and previously worked for Cole Lawson and Virgin.

 

Mills to move on

Chris Mills has announced he will be moving on from his role as chief executive of Experience Gold Coast.

He said six months ago he was asked by the Gold Coast Council to merge five businesses into one, Experience Gold Coast.

“Those five businesses are key drivers and representatives of tourism, events, education, arts and culture for the Gold Coast,” he said.

“With my work almost complete Experience Gold Coast will progress to the operating phase from September and I will move on.”

Namoi loses CFO

Namoi Cotton has revealed its chief financial officer Sonya Ryan had resigned after joining the company in January 2022.

The company has appointed Andy Baldwin as a finance consultant and he will work alongside Ryan to complete the half year results.
