After yesterday unveiling the latest developments at the $3.6 billion Queen’s Wharf, the Government was today at the other side of the city talking up the progress of the Eagle Street “big makeover”.
Those two projects alone represent more than $5 billion in capital in the CBD that will give the city a distinct new look.
“We’re working with Dexus to make their $2.5 billion Waterfront Brisbane project a reality,” the Premier said.
“It will have more public, open spaces on the riverside and a new wider Riverwalk.
“Bustling retail, waterfront dining, a new CityCat terminal and a commercial tower will lure visitors and investment to the CBD.
“The landmark project will create up to 3200 construction jobs over the next decade and support about 1,620 ongoing jobs.
“And it’s going to look amazing.”

Star’s $3.6 billion casino and hotel development, which has been slowed by Covid delays, was expected to open in April next year. Its Sky Deck had its final piece slotted into place in the past few days.

The open-air rooftop Sky Deck would be open every day for up to 1500 people. It will have a signature restaurant, all-day casual dining, a hero bar and a sky-high events space.

A glass floor viewing platform at the mid-way mark would provide a view and photo opportunities for the expected tourists.
