Nioa chief executive Ben James said the extension would mean the company would be able deliver more than 50 different types of munitions to the ADF.

He said the extension would shore up supplies against supply chain pressures.

The deed was established as a five-year, wide-ranging standing offer with options to extend acquisitions by the ADF for a further 10 years.

James said the Defence Strategic Review noted the need to rapidly acquire ammunition stocks from existing suppliers.

“Nioa is proud to be extended as Defence’s strategic supply partner for a range of natures included in the Major Munitions Deed supporting ADF preparedness,” he said.

Through the MMD, Nioa and its supply partners which included Northrop Grumman and Rhinemetall, would provide options to directly support accelerated preparedness.
