Appointments: Vaxxas gets Pfizer executive as CMO

A raft of resignations hit the market this week but Vaxxas also appointed a new chief medical officer. AACo is now missing a company secretary and Ian Frazer’s Microba is searching for a new director.

Vaxxas appoints CMO

Medical technology company Vaxxas has appointed Dr Rochelle Chaiken as its chief medical officer.

Chaiken has had a 23-year career with Pfizer where she was CMO for its emerging markets biopharmaceutical group.

Vaxxas is a high-density micro-array patch that could deliver vaccinations without the need for a needle.

Bennett quits AACO

The Australian Agricultural Company said its company secretary and general counsel Bruce Bennett had resigned after 16 years.

He would remain with the company to allow for a transition and handover to occur. AACo has begun the search for a replacement.

Popper quits Microba

The Ian Frazer-led Microba has announced Dr Caroline Popper had resigned as a director for personal reasons.

Popper, who is US-based, had been on the board since 2020.

Microba has started a search for a replacement.

Bollinger exits (almost)

Interim chief executive of Destination Gold Coast Karen Bollinger has announced her extended contract had finished.

However, she said she would remain behind the scenes to help with the Experience Gold Coast, an organisation that brings together the Home of the Arts, Destination Gold Coast, Major Events Gold Coast, Study Gold Coast and Placemakers. Former Gold Coast Airport boss Chris Mills was appointed as CEO in March.

Second Tymlez director resigns

Tymlez has announced its second resignation of a director in the space of a month.

The company said Rhys Evans has resigned from the board to devote time to other business commitments. He would be replaced by Darren Scott, who had an executive career with Cisco and Adobe.

In late May, Daniel O’Halloran resigned from the board and had been replaced by Raffaele Marcellino.

Qld Health gets human resources chief

Queensland Health has appointed Alarna Lane-Mullins as its chief human resources officer.

She is also a board member of MS Queensland and an executive director of the Queensland Public Service Commission.

Her previous role was as the chief people and culture officer with the Department of Main Roads and Transport.

New role at Inland Rail

Matt Martyn-Jones has started as chair of the Inland Rail Transition Steering Committee.

He is also the director of strategy and corporate affairs at Inland Rail.

Lane heads to ConocoPhillips

Chantale Lane has been appointed stakeholder relations manager at ConocoPhillips.

Previously she was chief executive officer of the Gladstone Industry Leadership Group and general manager at the Gladstone Engineering Alliance.
