Appointments: Genex gets a new broom

Renewables company Genex has put a succession plan in place, Hawsons Iron finds a new director and Brett Tredinnick waves goodbye after more than 20 years in this week’s appointments.

Genex picks CEO successor

Genex has revealed its chief executive James Harding would retire at the end of August and be replaced by Craig Francis who is currently the chief financial officer.

The company, which is building the Kidston pumped hydro project in north Queensland, said Harding would continue to act as consultant to it following his departure to support the transition.

Genex has started a search for a new CFO to replace Francis.

Analytica CEO resigns

Maryborough-based medical commercialisation company Analytica has announced that chief executive Geoff Daly had resigned.

Instead of replacing Daly, Analytica said Michael Monsour would become executive chair and would not receive any further fees above his current $75,000, plus superannuation.

Hawsons picks new director

Hawsons Iron has appointed Jeremy Kirkwood as a director. He fills the seat left by the retirement of Dave Woodall.

Kirkwood is a former investment banker and principal of Pilot Advisory. He was also a managing director of Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and Austock.

He is currently chair of Joyce Corporation and a director of Talisman Mining.

Drilling boss quits

AJ Lucas chief executive Brett Tredinnick has resigned after 23 years with the company “to pursue new opportunities”, the company said.

He would remain with the company until August 31 and help in the transition planning.

AJ Lucas said it intended to appoint a replacement before Tredinnick’s departure.

The company praised Tredinnick for his commitment to the company over his career.

Sprint promotes Barkell

Venture capital fund Sprint Ventures has announced Georgia Barkell as its managing partner.

Her most recent job was as Sprint’s chief operating officer.

Llew Jury will become the executive chair. He will also be on the Sprint investment committee and board of directors.

Internal pick to lead ALS

ALS has selected Malcolm Deane as its new managing director after a global search.

Deane was most recently the ALS chief strategy officer. He would be based in Houston and commute to Australia when necessary.

His pay would include fix remuneration of $US910,000, including superannuation. There were also short and long term incentives.

ALS is a global testing, inspection and certification business.

New director for trust

The Queensland Trust for Nature has appointed Sian Sinclair to its board.

Sinclair is a tax partner for Grant Thornton, in Brisbane. She has 25 years’ experience in taxation, accounting and general business consulting.

She is also on the Queensland divisional council of the Property Council.

Anderson consults for Counsel

Former Labor Government staffer and Queensland Resources Council adviser Kirby Anderson is joining Counsel House as an advisor. His own business PolicyWonks would also continue. Counsel House is a national public affairs and government advisory firm.
