Appointments: Giles to take on hydrogen project

Former Northern Territory Chief Minister Adam Giles has been appointed a director of Pure Hydrogen and will steer the company’s Moreton Bay hydrogen hub, which is expected to be operational in 2024.

Pure Hydrogen recently secured a site and a partner for the project which will provide the technology for the waste-to-clean energy facility.

Greenwing loses CEO

Greenwing Resources said Craig Lennon would stand down as chief executive on June 30 and it had started a search for his replacement.

Chair Rick Anthon said Lennon had been responsible for a deal with a Chinese company that had been transformative and he thanked him for hard work and leadership.

Aurizon exec to head Lindsay

Transport company Lindsay Australia has appointed Clayton McDonald as its chief executive, effective from July 17.

McDonald is currently Aurizon’s group executive for bulk commodities and has been at the rail and logistics company since 2008.

He will replace Kim Lindsay who led the company for 20 years.

BEDA picks up marketing GM

The Brisbane Economic Development Agency has a new general manager of marketing after it appointed Callum Wood to the role recently.

Before joining BEDA, Wood worked for the City of Melbourne.

QIMR picks up growth leader

The QIMR Berghoffer Medical Research Institute has appointed Tamanna Monem as head of growth and partnerships.

She had previously worked for the SME Growth Center, Robotics Australia and the Australia-India Business Council.

Alpha promotes Williamson

Alphas HPA has promoted Rob Williamson to executive director.

Williamson has been chief operating officer since June 2020. He is a mechanical engineer and has 20 years of experience in large facility operations.

Williamson also oversaw the construction and commissioning of the HPA project in Gladstone.

His appointment would mean his remuneration would be $443,000, including superannuation. He will also be able to receive bonuses of not more than 25 per cent of his fixed pay.

Alceon appoints debt director

Alceon, a specialist advisory, investment and capital solutions partnership, has appointed Yin-Peng Chiew as a director of debt advisory in Queensland.

Chiew relocated to the Gold Coast from Sydney last year where she worked for YieldStack as an investment director.

Previously, she was with Qualitas as a director of listed funds and strategy.
