Appointments: Govt names Scott as new Racing Queensland boss

The State Government has named the new boss for Racing Queensland, Arrow finds Cecile Wake’s replacement and more.

New Racing Qld boss

The State Government has appointed Jason Scott as the chief executive of Racing Queensland.

Soctt has been working in the US for BetMGM as vice president of trading, VIP and retail operations. Before that he was chief executive of Ladbrokes Australia.

Change gets a change at the top

Payments company Change Financial has appointed Tony Sheehan to take over as chief executive from July 3.

He will take over from Alastair Wilkie who is retiring.

Sheehan has worked with Change for the past two years as chief financial officer.

New Arrow boss takes over

Arrow Energy’s new chief executive Godson Njoku started at the Brisbane based company this week.

Arrow is jointly owned by Shell and China National Petroleum Corporation.

Godson’s most recent posting was Shell Senior Vice President of East (Australia) in 2020. Prior roles include Chief Executive Officer & Country Chair of Shell Gabon and Executive Vice President Production Support and Excellence.

He takes over from Cecile Wake who will be Country Chair of Shell in Australia and Senior Vice President Integrated Gas Australia, based in Brisbane.

Windlab’s new GM

Renewable energy company Windlab has appointed Nathan Blundell as general manager (development).

He was previously the development director and had worked for Arrow Energy as a development manager for more than a decade.

Auswide to lose MD

Auswide has revealed that managing director Martin Barrett would retire in December and they have started a recruitment process to find a replacement.

Barrett has been with the company since 2013 during which time its asset base grew from $2.6 billion to $4.8 billion.

Promotion at QEM

Vanadium proponent QEM has announced that Tim Wall had moved from deputy chair to chair of the company.

He was appointed as a director in 2022 but was “switfly elevated” to deputy chair late last year.

Davenport waves goodbye

Toowoomba Surat Basin Enterprise chief executive Ali Davenport has finished with the organisation after five years.

Greg Bowden had already been announced as her successor.

New Century loses director

Base metal producer New Century Resources has lost non-executive director Peter Watson who announced his departure this week.

He had been with the board since 2018 and departs following the acquisition of Sibanye-Stillwater.
