Bradley, who served as Under Treasurer in Queensland for 14 years, announced his decision to resign in May but took up until Monday to make it official.

Bradley also resigned his role as chair of Queensland Treasury Corporation earlier this year after 10 years in the role.

Star has been embroiled in controversy in Queensland and NSW after revelations about the operations of its casinos in Brisbane, Sydney and the Gold Coast, including allegations of money laundering and the role of key transactions from its bank.

The company also lost its chair John O’Neil and several key executives.

Star’s new chair Ben Heap said Bradley had made a considerable contribution to the company and left with the best wishes of the board.

In Queensland, Star is expected to be issued with a show cause notice by the Attorney General to show why it should keep its casino licence.
