Business coach gets CTM seat

Marissa Peterson will join the board of Corporate Travel Management as a non-executive director.

Peterson is president and CEO of Mission Peak Executive Consulting, a Silicon Valley leadership coaching business. She is also on the board of Ayers Rock Acquisition Company and has also had executive roles at Sun Microsystems and was the chair at Oclaro and a director at Ansell.

CTM chair Ewen Crouch said it was the right time to add new skills and perspectives to the board.

Local heads up KPMG in the north

Townsville local David Minuzzo has started as partner and Townsville office leader for KPMG this week.

Minuzzo has more than 25 years’ experience providing advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses and Native Title Groups.  His expertise spans a broad range of sectors, having advised clients in the agricultural, medical, construction, transport, and hospitality industries.

KPMG Queensland chair Michael Hiller said Minuzzo was a seasoned practitioner with good standing in the local communities of north Queensland.  His expertise would complement the rest of our local team, Hiller said.

“Strong demand for our services across Northern Queensland is showing no signs of easing, and I am confident that David is well-placed to lead the team as those opportunities are realised,” he said.

Arnold starts at Urban Utilities

Paul Arnold has started as chief executive officer at Urban Utilities.

Conlon takes the chair

Law firm McCullough Robertson has appointed Kristin Conlon as chair of partners.

Conlon has been with the firm since 1998 when she started as a graduate. She replaces Reece Walker and has been a partner since 2007.

Conlon is also a deputy chair at yourtown, as well as chair at the Community Housing Industry Association and vice president of the Committee for Brisbane.

Joining her as part of the executive leadership will be Alex Hutchen, Aaron Dahl and David Hughes.

Damien Clarke and Guy Humble remain as joint managing partners.

Lamb to Airservices Australia

Dominique Lamb will take up a role with Airservices Australia as head of external communications.

Lamb was until recently the chief executive of the National Retail Association.

Education Department appoints deputy DG

Stacie Hansel has been appointed to the new position of deputy director general of schools and student support within the Department of Education.

Hansel would be responsible for the delivery of quality learning outcomes.

She will also be responsible for the establishment and implementation of innovative approach to the use of digital technology and professional development of school leaders and the schools workforce.

Townsville’s new chamber boss

Michael Kern will head the Townsville Chamber of Commerce.

A Townsville local, Kern was previously with Agforce Cane and James Cook University.

Site boss for Pinata Farms

Demetrio Bruno has been appointed a site operations manager for Pinata Farms at its raspberry and strawberry farm at Stanthorpe.

Bruno, who has experience in protected cropping environments, will be responsible for overseeing production.

He previously worked in Bundaberg and the NSW central coast.

Rohan gets The Lott

Amanda Rohan has started as head of regulatory strategy at The Lottery Corporation.

Rohan previously worked for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland and was a member of the Brisbane City Council small business roundtable as well as a member of the Manufacturing Ministerial Council.
