Data#3 tips a booming profit despite supply chain woes

Brisbane tech company Data#3 said it would deliver a pre-tax profit for the year of $44 million, but the company has warned that supply chain issues would continue well into next year.

The company said this would represent a 19 per cent increase on the 2021 result.

The profit was impacted by supply chain disruption which led to “extensive product delays” that impacted the global industry, particularly for major infrastructure projects.

“This coincided with the spike in demand traditionally experienced in the fourth quarter, resulting in inflated product back-orders at year end,” the company said.

“The pre-tax profit associated with the back-order is estimated to be at least $6 million, which is expected to be realised in the first half of 2023.

“This compares with the $3 million back-order at the end of 2021.

“Supply constraints for various products are expected to continue well into 2023.”
