His latest attack, posted on LinkedIn, gathered strong support including from Vita Group founder and director Maxine Horne.

The spread of the Omicron variant has caused major issues for businesses, particularly in hospitality, because staff have been affected and had to isolate, leaving businesses shorthanded at the busiest time of the year.

Some venues have also been forced to close or reduce hours.

“Watching the current shit show and only have one comment.  If you banana politicians where (sic) employed in private business you would be homeless,’’ he said.

In a separate post, Di Bella said all time, money and resources should be directed to protecting the most vulnerable and vaccine mandates should be removed.

“They’re not working. Enforcing mandates (is) now wasting huge amounts of time and money for Government and business and distract(ing) from what is important,’’ he said.

“The real issue is now blatantly obvious. Protect the most vulnerable and leave the rest to make good health decisions for themselves.

“Again … everyone will get this. The experts are saying that the large majority will experience mild symptoms and immunity will be created.

“What will it take for governments to learn.’’

He said the unvaccinated people he knew who had contracted the Omicron variant had experienced similar symptoms to the vaccinated.

“Yes, there will be exceptions, just as for (the) vaccinated,’’ he said.

Di Bella previously said he would he will not “discriminate” against people based on Covid-19 vaccination status at his cafe, despite a public health order that hospitality businesses can only open to fully vaccinated customers from next month.
