Queensland energy entrepreneur Trevor St Baker must see something in the American military if his director appointments are anything to go by.

Kenneth Braithwaite will get a seat on the new Tritium-SPAC board

Tritium Holdings, of which St Baker is the major shareholder and chairman, is merging with a special purpose acquisition company in the US and the new board of the combined company will feature a former one-star rear admiral, US Secretary of the Navy and Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway,  Kenneth Braithwaite.

 As the 77th US Secretary of the Navy Braithwaite, appointed by former President Donald Trump, was responsible for an 800,000 member global enterprise of both the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps with an annual budget of over $US200 billion. 

He was also considered a likely Republican candidate for the US Senate.

Over at the battery materials company Novonix, of which St Baker is director and major shareholder, the board includes former Admiral Robert Natter.

Natter also has a seat on the Corporate Travel Management board.

Tritium chief executive Jane Hunter said Braithwaite had invaluable experience working with governments and the private sector to find creative solutions to tough problems.

She said his appointment demonstrated Tritium’s commitment to assembling the highest-quality directors comprised of seasoned leaders with deeply relevant expertise to advance its position in DC fast charging.
