Broncos Chairman Karl Morris has been revealed as the buyer of one of Queensland’s most expensive and exclusive homes in Leopard Street, Kangaroo Point

Real estate website Domain has reported that the house,  on the market since 2019, had finally sold again after a massive deal fell through last year.

Today, Broncos chairman Morris revealed himself as the buyer, reportedly in a cash, unconditional contract close to the $18 million asking price.

Morris and his wife had previously sold their Tennyson home for a record $17.6m in 2019, telling Domain at the time they wished to downsize to a smaller family home after three of their five children had moved out.

Morris, who is also the Chief Executive of private wealth management group Ord Minnett, and sits on a number of corporate boards, said the exclusive clifftop residence perfectly suited the family’s changing needs.

“We’ve been looking for a property in Brisbane for some time and this suited our family at this stage of our life,” he told Domain.

The sale comes during Brisbane’s post-COVID property market boom, real estate agents have been closing record prices on houses across every suburb in the city.
