The company has brought in Deloitte to sort out the issue, which was revealed in its quarterly financial update this week.

“Given the complexities involved, the review is still in its preliminary stages,” a spokesman said.

“Our initial analysis of historical data has identified inconsistences in relation to Suncorp’s rostering and pay systems which may have led to errors in overpayments and underpayments of overtime, shift penalties and public holiday loadings.

“Our remediation efforts will focus on employees who are eligible for additional payments.

“If our analysis reveals a net over payment for an individual, we will not ask for this money to be paid back.

“We are still analysing the data and have engaged Deloitte to help us with this review.

“All aspects of Suncorp’s pay-related obligations are being considered.”
