After eight months of forced hibernation, one of Brisbane’s most popular culinary destinations, Eat Street Markets at Hamilton Northshore, is reopening today.

The markets will be open from 4-10pm today and tomorrow and from 4-9pm on Sunday.

Organisers have said there will be no pre-booking required and entry will be on a first arrival basis, with attendees required to scan a QR code and provide details to enter.  The open-air venue has a large footprint and organisers said some vendors will remain closed to allow for many additional tables and chair, with attendance to be closely monitored to keep within COVID-safe patron limits.

Entry is $5 for adults, with kids 12 & under free. Only Tap & Go payments will be accepted at the gates.  Parking is free.  For more information, visit the Eat Street website.

BUNDY’S TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Bundaberg’s 12 days of Christmas kicked off earlier this week, with a sleigh-load of festive events planned for the region until December 12.

Highlights for the kids include the Selfie with Elfie scavenger hunt, a range of Christmas craft activities and a colouring-in competition.

For adults, there are events including the Dining in Bauble Street, 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails, a Christmas Degustation and various workshops.

There will also be a range of family activities including outdoor movie nights, Paradise Lane Christmas lights, carols, a Christmas fair and markets and the enchanting Merry and Bright in Botanic Gardens.

REVOLUTION CONTINUES

One of Brisbane’s best independent record stores, Sonic Sherpa at Stones Corner, is celebrating its fifth birthday this weekend, and they’re celebrating with a free instore double-header.

Former Go-Betweens bassist Adele Pickvance’s new band, Adele and the Chandeliers (ABOVE) will be appearing at 3pm to showcase a slew of songs from their debut album First Date and Brisbane trop-pop maestros The Stress of Leisure will be performing tracks from their recently released record Faux Wave. The COVID-compliant instore eppearances are free and all ages, with face masks available.

OAR’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL

If you’ve ever thought about sticking an oar in, get along to Damien Leeding Memorial Park at Oxenford on the Gold Coast tomorrow for Paddlefest 2020.

Presented in conjunction with the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation, City of Gold Coast, Southport Yacht Club, Paddle Queensland Flatwater Technical Committee and Paddle Queensland Member Clubs, tomorrow’s event will be a Community “Come and Try” Day, with a range different crafts available for the public to use.

On Sunday, there will be a range of competitive marquee events to watch, including the 2020 PQ School Canoe Sprint Champs; 2020 PQ School Canoe Marathon Champs, 2020 PQ Canoe Sprint Regatta and 2020 PQ Canoe Polo Demonstration.

Tugun Lights Up returns for its eighth year tomorrow night, with fabulous free family festive entertainment planned.

Dine under the stars at one of the fantastic local cafes or restaurants, check out the local window displays and special offers, or visit the Christmas market stalls. There will be plenty of children’s entertainment on offer throughout the program, with a special appearance by Santa!

Presented by Gold Coast City Councillor Gail O’Neill in partnership with Tugun Community Bank Branch, Tugun Lights Up 2020, the event also includes a free laser light show tspo0nsored by Ray White Tugun/Elanora.
